Samsung Unveiled Galaxy S6 And S6 Edge along with Samsung Pay

Samsung one of the largest manufacturer of smartphones has unveiled there latest flagship devices- Samsung Galaxy S6 and Samsung Galaxy S6 edge yesterday at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The tech giants along with their Flagship devices also unveiled Samsung pay- entering the Mobile Payment Market and to give a stiff competition to Apple Pay. Also, an interesting thing to look forward will be, how Samsung S6 will stand out against Apple iphone 6.

Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge

Samsung galaxy S6 and S6 edge will be available in the market on April 10. Both the devices have metal frames and glass body in the front and back-end. The new galaxy devices are expected to come in different colors like emerald, gold, blue and off-course black and white. Both these devices supports 5.1 Quad HD Super Amoled display with 577 pixel density along with Gorilla glass 4 for protection. The devices are available in 32 Gb, 64 Gb and 128 Gb along with 3gb RAM.


Both these devices are powered by Samsung’s Exynos 7 octa-core processor with 64 bit support (quad-core 2.1GHz+ quad-core 1.5GHz). The cameras of the Galaxy Devices are seen as a huge upgrade, The front camera will be 5 Mp and have a F1.9 lens that lets you capture high quality images. The rear cameras will be 16 Mp and also have F1.9 lens with HDR support with plenty of other options in the camera menu.

Samsung Galaxy S 6 Edge has curved edges similar to its predecessor Note 4 Edge. A new feature, You will now be able to see who’s calling without looking at the screen. You can now assign color to your contacts and when the someone calls you and your phone is facing down, the edge of the phone will glow in the color you have assigned thus, you will be able to know who called you.

Samsung galaxy S6 will have a 2550 MAH battery and S6 Edge will be available with a 2600 MAH battery, both devices will now come with non-removable battery and a missing card slot too.  Some other specs include faster battery charging, the company says 10 min of charging will give you 4 hrs usage, supports Samsung payments, fingerprint scanning with an enhanced touch-type fingerprint scanner on the home button, UFS 2.0 Flash storage and much more. Both these devices supports Android 5.0.2 Lollipop.

Samsung Pay

Samsung has also stepped its foot in the world of mobile payment market, with it’s recent acquisition of LoopPay. The Tech Giant has taken this step to surpass Apple Pay in mobile payment segment. The new flagship devices from Samsung Pay allows user’s to make in-store transactions with their mobile phones, similar to existing mobile payment systems like Google wallet and Apple pay.


The Company has also collaborated with Mastercard to establish in the Mobile Payment Market. Samsung pay use near-field communication technology (NFC) to make contact less payments in shops which have new payment terminals, it also works with older magnetic swipe card terminals. Samsung Pay is definitely a step taken forward by the company to make its mark in the mobile payment sector. Samsung pay is expected to target 30 million merchant location worldwide.


MWC 2015 flagged of with a big announcement by Samsung, announcing it latest flagship devices Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge. MWC has always been full of surprises and it will definitely be look forward to what other surprises are there for us. Since Smasung Galaxy S5 received lesser attention compared to Apple iphone 5S, the next big thing will be to look forward to Samsung Galaxy S6’s competition with iphone 6.
